Healthcare: Chicks

Chickens are very easy to care for in general but you need to be on the lookout for or take preventative steps for some things.

• Pasty Butt — look for it when you first get your chicks. They can have poo covering their vent (the name for where both poo and egg come out). Try to gently remove the dried poo with a warm wet cloth or by carefully dipping the chick's butt in warm water and working the poo off that way.
